Appointment Scheduler
This is a somewhat different type of database for Q&A
and utilizes the new table view features of version 4.0.
I created this appointment template as a part of a
much larger office/invoicing package and thought others
might find some use for it.
Unlike most Q&A databases, this one is meant to be
used in Q&A's table view mode (from the search/update
spec) where is it is possible to scroll back and forth
across the screen. As such, you can add entries or modify
them as needed.
I've included a macro that you can use to activate the
calendar. It assumes that you've already called up the
appointment calendar once.
If you don't want to use the macro, here's how to
start: Go to search/update and call up the database. At
the retrieve spec, press F8 to call the sort spec. Tab to
the time slot field and type: 1,as. F10. This will bring
up all the records. However, if you have more than one
week installed, you can include retrieve or sort by weeks
as well.
There is one report already written, and it prints out
the week's appointments.
Records are sorted by time slots, and you could
customize to however often you want the breaks. As it is
set-up, breaks are every 15 minutes.
I could think of at least two different ways to keep
the times on the screen as you scrolled across. I chose
the simpler of the two.
Finally, you could add weeks by simply copying blank
records from a virgin backup copy. Again, there are a
couple of other methods possible, depending on your needs.
Enjoy.
